Kim Kerwin has been an independent, reliable, intelligent and enthusiastic contributor to the RDA since her appointment to the RDA Logan & Redlands Committee in early 2017. She has had lengthy experience at the Deputy/Acting Chief Executive Officer level with organisational responsibility for wide ranging portfolios covering all corporate, community and strategic planning functions, including financial and business unit management, water supply operations and capital works augmentation, facilities maintenance, economic development, development assessment, disaster and pest management and community and customer services. Her extensive regional planning and development experience included managing the Queensland Government’s regional planning portfolio for North Queensland and she was Executive Officer for the Southern Regional Organisation of Councils which included Logan and Redlands local government areas.
In her most recent role with Redland City Council she had Group Manager responsibility and accountability for economic and community development and major project coordination, leading work that secured the 2032 Olympic whitewater venue for Redlands Coast and managing the review of the Redland Planning Scheme.
Ms Kerwin has a Master’s degree in Science (Environmental Management), an Honours degree in Regional and Town Planning and a Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Management. She has been a Director and Partner on the Boards of two major Queensland planning and development firms and with the Planning Institute of Australia (Qld Division) and has been a business owner in both retail and professional services.
Kim recently moved back into the private sector as Planning Manager with Uglystick Contracting, a Logan-based firm consulting to the construction industry.
